Coffee is a very loved drink by many caffeinated humans, coffee brings us together to connect and share amazing experiences. coffee is so LOVED that there are different coffee associations and festivals all over the world? in one of the most amazing associations and we are proud to be in the Specialty Coffee Association! On this 787 Coffee blog, we will cover the amazing experience we had recently at the SCA event in Chicago and what each human in our team took away from this SCA Expo!

What is SCA and what do the events consist of?

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is an organization that helps by doing research on specialty coffee, gathering information about coffee, and sharing it with the professional humans of coffee so they can share it with their teams! The SCA consists of coffee professionals, producers baristas, and agriculture from all over the world. This organization is important because it creates standards to maintain the quality of specialty coffee. They also educate humans about coffee and barista skills. For example, the correct way to brew specialty coffee to have the best flavor for your coffee, they talk about the different coffee beans and the proper way to roast them. Important barista skills to not ruin your coffee flavor. These types of events are very important for caffeinated humans in the business in coffee so they can share their knowledge about coffee, try each other coffee, learn new skills and technology from one another

787 Coffee In SCA Chicago

Recently,  787 coffee leaders had the opportunity to assist in this amazing event. In which our leaders learned about coffee, met farmers, different types of coffee, and their procedures. They had the opportunity to work with amazing equipment such as Sanremo, which understands the fundamental factors of old equipment to make new equipment. Everything has the same fundamentals from when machines were invented but they are being complemented with new technologies to have a better coffee in the future.

Our leaders had the amazing opportunity to meet the amazing secretaries of agriculture who are doing amazing things for a cleaner planet and amazing coffee. We had the opportunity to talk to Lenith Arocho, the first Woman Q Grader Arabica of Puerto Rico who explained to us that for the coffee plantation to be successful, the land where it will be harvested must go through different evaluations. On the other hand, we had the opportunity to talk to the Secretary of agriculture, Ramon Gonzales of Puerto Rico who explained to us the Innovative strategies for better coffee future

Humans are looking for specialty coffee made in beautiful places that offer an experience. 787 Coffee represents exactly that. We are a farm-to-cup coffee experience - giving our humans a true Puerto Rican experience.



Why do Coffee Conventions Exist? 

The purpose of these events is to help humans learn, appreciate, and understand coffee better. Even though coffee is the same all around the world, every region has its unique agriculture and techniques that we can learn from. By understanding these differences, we can take better care of our planet and preserve the quality of the coffee we enjoy every day. In the past, coffee was for the elite, and today, coffee is for every human around the world. Coffee is important, and it keeps changing and evolving each day, which is a factor that we must learn about daily. Coffee is more than just a drink; it has science behind it that we must learn about to give our humans the best cup of coffee. We must understand how to keep it fresh, and how to take all the flavors out of the coffee beans.



Conclusion

It has become clear that coffee isn't just a drink it’ss what connects humans all over the world. Each coffee Exp is not done justtoo show of coffee flavors but also the passion and dedication of the farmers and entrepreneurs behind them.

These caffeinated are mainly done to for education, celebration, and connection. Whether it's learning about the intricate process of coffee cultivation, sampling unique flavor profiles, or simply enjoying the cultural music of that specific region, these festivals offer a piece into the coffee culture worldwide, knowing that no matter where we come from we all have something in common to share, COFFEE!
