What Do You Need?
Grinder
moka pot
Coffee
Milk
Step 1: Grind Your Coffee
Grind your coffee. Since we are not using a professional machine, a fine grind is needed to obtain a taste similar to an espresso. The fine grind will help extract all of the delicious coffee taste.
Step 2: Make Your Coffee
Fill your moka pot with boiled water below the valve to avoid overflow. Place your coffee into the filter without tamping it, just make sure it's even for a balanced extraction. Place it on your stovetop over medium heat to avoid fast extraction. Remember, if water passes through the coffee too fast, it will result in a coffee with less flavor.
Step 3: Prepare Your Milk
To froth your milk, you can use different machines such as a French press. Froth the milk by moving the plunger up and down to make it foamy!
To summarize
You don't need an expensive espresso machine to make delicious coffee drinks. You can make a cappuccino, a flat white, or a latte with just a moka pot or even an Aeropress. While you won't get the exact taste of an espresso because it's not an espresso machine, you can still make a strong and delicious coffee with wonderful notes. It's all about consistency, practice, and finding out which coffee drink or technique you prefer the most.
Stay caffeinated and motivated.
